You will complete three projects:
Concept#1: Learn the basic principal and different
methods of wrapping: You will be taught step-by-step how to use
a premade armature as a base for figure-building with aluminum
foil. In this project, you will use premixed Paverpol in grey,
terra cotta, black and bronze to make four stepped-out examples
to use in your classes. The figures should be placed on a single
canvas and in interesting poses. This piece will also serve as a
color sample for your classes. You will dry-wrap one figure with
cotton gauze and brush on Paverpol; wet-wrap one with t-shirt
strips; wrap one with Paverpol Wrappers. The fourth figure in
the series will be wrapped in the method of your choice and
draped and dressed. You will also make a simple wig with
Pavercotton for your figurine. When your figurine is dry, you
will learn how to apply dry brushing for a finishing touch. You
will learn to use varnish, tint varnish and special effect
techniques
Concept #2: Learn the importance of a proper armature:
You will be taught step-by-step how to make a wire figure and
build an internal support for a standing statue. You will be
introduced to Pavercolors and use with transparent Paverpol and
both solid and patterned fabric. You will practice and build on
skills learned in Project 1 to create a two-color figure
standing on a base. You will wrap the figure in the technique of
your choice. When your figurine is dry enough you will apply dry
brushing techniques and embellishments.
Concept #3: Learn how to construct a non-figurative
armature: You will learn how to make an original armature. You
will design and construct the proper armature for a
multi-colored, standing abstract wire and Styrofoam sculpture on
a stone base.

test on product and technique knowledge. A Level One CPI
